Claire Bardelmann is Lecturer in English at Université Paul Verlaine, Metz. She is a member of the Institute for Research on the Renaissance, the Enlightenment and the Classical Age (IRCL). She is a musicologist and a specialist of musical symbolism in Elizabethan drama. She is currently researching a monography on the music of love in Shakespeare.

Recent publications include “The Ferryman's Fortunes: The ‘Charon Dialogues' or the Metamorphosis of a Myth in the Age of Elizabeth”, Cahiers Élisabéthains 76 (2009), 11-20.
